A crash Wednesday afternoon in Inwood involved a dump truck that snapped a utility pole and brought down power lines. State Police say around 4 yesterday afternoon, the dump truck driver was pulling out of a private driveway on Winchester Avenue, but never lowered the bed of the truck, which hooked onto the power line and brought down the live wires. The driver wisely stayed in the cab and called 911 out of fear of electrocution if he got out. The mishap resulted in the closure of Winchester Avenue between Jordan Lane and Sader Drive. The driver was eventually freed from the cab. Nobody was hurt. No word on what, if any, charges may be filed.
